Quick Detailing

Quick
detailing

Just a spray away from protection & scratchless drying!

As you're nearing the end of your weekly wash, using a quick detailing spray is a great way of adding a couple of weeks of freshly-detailed shine - and in some cases protection - with just a spray and a wipe.

1    What does it do? - Makes drying safe, tops up your protection & looks great!
2    Different types - Glossy drying aids, protectors & waterless washers.
3    How & when to use it - After washing, while drying or on a dusty car.
4    The one for you - Choosing made simple.

1 A finishing aid for your last step

Get the perfect finish, without smears or drip lines, even in the complex bits!

Quick detailing isn't necessarily another step. Although there are different types, you can think of it simply as an aid to your current steps. An aid that offers a protecting layer, like a quick wax, and adds gloss (unless you're using a matte quick detailer). You'll also feel the benefits in future washes dirt rinses off & dries faster.

No more scratches, with it's lubricating properties while drying.
Make drying easier, with less effort needed and gets rid of drip lines.
Add protection at the end of each wash.
Add gloss at the same time.
Top-up protection that you have on the car, like a coating or wax.

You can use quick detailers on paintwork, trim and sometimes glass too.

2 Choices, choices

There are 3 main types of quick detailers, each serving a different purpose:

Gloss enhancers

The most common kind for a freshly-detailed look, can also be used as a drying aid.

Spray on both towel & car, either during or after drying, and spread over the panel.
Buff off with a microfiber towel.

That's it! Enjoy the look of a freshly detailed car after each wash.

Paint protectors

Like a spray-on wax that provides a barrier from dirt, oil & water. Not only that, but it makes your next wash even smoother and safer!

Spray on both towel & car after drying and spread over the panel.
Buff off with a microfiber towel.

You're good to go for a couple of weeks!

Waterless washers

A lubricating layer that lifts dust and light dirt, allowing you to then remove it with a buffing towel.

Spray on your dusty paintwork.
Pick up with your buffing towel, along with the dust.

Start with the towel flat and 'peel' away from the car as you wipe.

Pro Tip: If you're in a rush, spray on while the car's still wet. The quick detailer acts as a lubricant, allowing your microfiber drying towel to soak up the water, whilst also adding a layer of protection and/or gloss.

3 Here are a few pointers

To get you on your way.

How to apply

You'll need around 4 towels to quick detail your entire car.

Fold your towel in 4 (half, and half again) and use each side only once.

Spray some product on both towel & paintwork, applying with long strokes - working on maximum 4 panels at a time.

Buffing

Fold towel in 4 before you start, to give you more control.

Buff off with small movements, using as little pressure as you can, until all residue is gone.

Switch to a new side regularly and don't re-use a side.

Change towels as soon as you've used all sides.

The right towel

You'll need a microfiber towel, so go plush. Nice thick, dense microfibers to lift and store dirt before cleaning, keeping it away from your precious paintwork.

Our favourites: Korean Plush 470, Crazy Pile, Q2M Softwipe & Summit 800.

Pro Tip: Quick detail your door jams, trunk & hood after each wash to avoid dirt build-up, staying clean & protected.
