Scratch-free
drying
Save time AND protect your paint!
Breeze through the drying process with ease, while keeping your paint safe from swirls! It's time to throw those old chamois away and stop carving scratches into your paintwork.
1 What safe drying means
Saving time and scratches..
After rinsing the car, your next job is quickly and safely remove all water from all surfaces with high-quality drying towels or a blow dryer.
Dry fast - huge absorbtion capacity means there's no need to wring-out your towel, saving time and avoiding streaks.
Dry safe - with soft, thick towels that lift dust and dirt away from your paintwork, instead of rubbing it in, saving you from scratches and wash swirls.
The less touching the car the better - blow dryers are the ultimate way to dry as the paint remains untouched.
2 Safest towel types
There are 3 main types of drying towels, all microfiber towels:
Waffle weave
Its 3D structure gives it a larger surface area for better absorbtion.
This is the original microfiber drying towel on the market, still enjoyed by our old school customers!
Plush
High-GSM with very thick, soft, dense microfibers for absorbing.
Use this if you keep your car well-maintained or have delicate paint. If you don't wash often, this towel will feel 'sticky' on your paint.
Twisted loop
The loops of microfibers add extra surface area for extra absorbtion.
A great towel for less frequently-washed cars. Almost as absorbent as a plush towel, with no 'sticky' feeling if your car isn't kept at the highest level.
Pro Tip: NEVER WRING-OUT your drying towel. You'll never get through a full car with just 1 towel anyway - we recommend a combination of towels & mitts to make your life easier (see bottom for our combo).
3 The best drying techniques
To avoid scratches, swirls and streaks.
Dabbing or draping
Dab - fold-up and dab the water off the paintwork. This takes longer, but it's extremely safe as you don't rub the paintwork.
Drape - open up your towel fully, lay it flat and pull it the full length of the panel by its corners. Draping removes downward pressure on the paintwork and is handy for high areas.
Fold & flip
Fold the towel in sections and use long, slow strokes - no circles! Once the section gets wet, flip to another one and get back to drying.
Use a quick detailer to lubricate, avoid scratches, streaks and add gloss/protection.
Use a fresh towel once you've used all sides or the towel is too wet.
Blow dryer
By far the safest way to dry, without touching the car. No touching, no scratches!
Dry the details with ease - grills, logos, door jambs, rims and any other hard-to-reach areas.
Don't chase every drop - save time by quick detailing instead to catch any left-over water spots.
Pro Tip: No matter how you dry, don’t lose too much time chasing every drop or streak. Instead, use the time for quick detailing and you'll get a much better result!
4 Choosing the one for you
It's time to decide.
1 towel won't do
This combination will cover your whole drying process:
1 medium or large towel (panels)
1 small towel (bumpers, smaller areas)
1 drying mitt (details, door jambs, etc.)
