All you need to know about Pressure Washers

2 Same look, different jobs

There are 3 main uses for foams:

Pre-wash

Soften and remove dust, dirt, tar & road film before you touch the car, avoiding swirls & scratches.

The dirt is lifted and rinsed away before your wash mitt can rub it into your paintwork.

Protecting foams

Add a super-fast layer of protection in minutes after your wash!

Enjoy 6-8 weeks of protection. This hydrophobic layer will seriously speed up drying time and make future washes much easier.

Wheel cleaners

Make light work of your wheels before you do anything else.

Some wheel cleaners are designed to be foamed, making for a fast, easy application. They hold on tight to your wheels, rims & arches and work hard on the grime & brake dust.

Pro Tip: Clean your lance! Always spray your lance until clear water is flowing to avoid internal product build-up, which can clog up the lance over time.

3 Here are a few pointers

To get you on your way.

The 1 litre test

Every pressure washer is different. Here's how to check how much foam solution you'll need:

Add 1 litre of water to your bottle.
Attach to your pressure washer.
Spray your car exactly as you would if you were foaming - wheels, arches, every detail.
Check how much you used. That's how much foam + water you'll need!

Diluting

After doing the 1 litre test, check our product descriptions for dilution ratios and make your mix in the lance bottle.

Pre-wash
Add your product (usually ~100ml) before topping up to the correct amount of water.
Protective foam
Add your water first, then mix in your product (usually ~30ml).

Application

Foam panel-by-panel until you've gone all around the car, leaving an even layer.

3 long strokes/sprays should cover each panel - adjust the angle of your foam by rotating the foam lance nose.

Left with too much/little? Adjust your product intake while foaming using the switch on top of the lance.

Rinsing

Let pre-wash soak (~10 mins) before rinsing off again to allow the product to soften and lift the dirt & grime.

Rinse well! The foam holds the grit so you'll want to make sure its all gone.

Rinse protective foams immediately - don't let it dry! Enjoy the results right before your eyes - drying should now be a breeze.

You still need to wash!

Pre-wash foams remove grit before you use your shampoo and wash mitt - it does not replace washing.

Although we want to touch the car as little as possible during the wash, cleaning is done by shampoos!

It does, of course, make washing super easy and enjoyable, with minimal dirt left on the car.

The thicker the better?

We love it too, the sight of a car freshly foamed, but remember that product you poured into the bottle? Well, most of it isn't even touching the paint right now.

It's best to get a thorough, light covering, which is far easier to fully rinse off again too.

Pro Tip: Use separate bottles for pre-wash, protection & wheels to avoid contamination and ruin your results.

We offer lots of foam lance connections, see them all here

4 Choosing the one for you

It's time to decide.
