Paint Detective PD8 Paint Thickness Gauge

Our new entry level Paint Thickness Gauge is factory calibrated and ready to use straight out of the box. It measures total paint thickness on both ferrous (steel) and non-ferrous (aluminium) panels, and switches automatically between these two modes when different substrate types are detected. Measurements are taken almost instantly (in either microns or mils, selected with the touch of a button), with an accuracy of +/- 2 microns (which equates to approximately +/- 3 % on typical factory paint finishes). Our Paint Thickness Gauge features a large, easy to read display that flips through 180° to enable easy use of the gauge upside down, plus a power saving auto off function that switches the gauge off 30 seconds after the last measurement is taken (on board memory also stores a running record of the last ten measurements taken). A set of calibration shims and bare metal zero shims are supplied in the hard storage case (although recalibration is not usually required on a regular basis), along with a user manual and a one year return to base warranty.
