Dr Leather Dye Block is an advanced water-based coating that forms a semi-permanent barrier layer on finished leathers. Developed in Britain, it uses a non-volatile water-based delivery system to lay down a microfilm of special polymers that dries to form a completely transparent, tough, flexible coating that chemically bonds to treated surfaces at the molecular level. Following application, dye transfer from clothing and everyday soiling is actively repelled, which helps to prevent stains from forming and ensures that lighter coloured leathers remain looking as intended. In independent tests, Dr Leather Dye Block has been proven to offer excellent resistance to dye migration and abrasion for upwards of six months at a time. To ensure optimal performance, treated surfaces should still be cleaned regularly with either Dr Leather Liquid Cleaner or Dr Leather Cleaning Wipes. Dr Leather Dye Block is an advanced leather coating that forms a semi-permanent and completely invisible barrier layer that repels dye transfer and everyday soiling. We have recently begun using it on a regular basis in our studio to add stain protection to lighter coloured leather interiors, many of which we see are blighted by dye migration from darker coloured jeans. Able to withstand mechanical wear for up to six months at a time and virtually impervious to dye transfer, Dr Leather Dye Block is one of those products that pays for itself in terms of the benefits it brings. Furthermore, because it eschews siloxane or polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) chemistry in favour of functional components that are actually used during the leather manufacturing process, it fully maintains the original look and feel of modern coated leather. In a word, it's brilliant, and comes highly recommended.

How To Use Dr Leather Dye Block should be applied in a warm dry place out of direct sunlight. To protect your skin, we recommend wearing PB Nitrile Gloves during the application process. To achieve the expected performance benefits you must ensure that the surfaces to be treated are spotlessly clean and dry. If any pre-cleaning is required, a dedicated leather cleaner such as Dr Leather Liquid Cleaner should be used and the treated surfaces then left to dry naturally. Dr Leather Dye Block should be sprayed on to a Meguiar’s Microfibre Applicator Pad and then wiped on evenly before being left to dry naturally for a minimum of 12 hours. On lighter coloured leathers or interiors subject to heavy use you may wish to apply a further coat to ensure that maximum protection is achieved. Any accidental overlap onto adjacent plastic or textile surfaces should be wiped off immediately with an Atomiza Microfibre Work Towel.
